Largest Car Antenna Manufacturing Base in Southwest China to Settle in Chongqing

Liangjiang New Area has been a new motor for Chongqing’s economy and intelligent industry.

During the 1st Smart China Expo (SCE), held in Chongqing last August, a total of 501 key projects of investment of RMB 612 billion were signed.

As the follow-up, the intelligent industry has begun to make changes for the future life in this city.

Intelligent car antennas made in Chongqing

As one of the signed key projects at the SCE, Suzhong Antenna Group will build a car antenna manufacturing base in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. It will be an investment of RMB 0.44 billion, and the factory will be the largest in Southwest China.

Suzhong is the biggest car antenna manufacturer of China, with a market share of 90%. When the factory launched in 2019, the annual output is expected to reach RMB 0.6 billion to 1 billion.

In addition, the enterprise has taken the intelligent antenna as a crucial research project. Currently, Suzhong is also the supplier of intelligent antennas for manufacturers of driverless car.

In 2017, the number of automobiles manufactured in Liangjiang New District was 2.28 million. It accounted for 76% of Chongqing’s automobile production, with an output value of RMB 270 billion.

Industry-University-Research (IUR) base of semiconductor

On September 27, an industry-university-research (IUR) base of semiconductor opened in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.

According to the investor, the plan is to train about 10,000 professionals here in the next five years. Also, it will build an intern base of semiconductor and integrated circuit industries for universities and vocational colleges.

Besides, a science museum themed on semiconductor and located in Chongqing will debut at the beginning of 2019.

Supply chain management center of China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba

Alibaba, China’s leading company in e-commerce, agreed with the local government at the SCE last month to settle its supply chain management center in Banan District, Chongqing.

The investment will be at least RMB 0.75 billion, and the construction area will be over 0.25 million square meters.

The project will include a processing center of new retail orders, a big data platform of logistics, a financial service center of new retail supply chain, a platform for new retail trials, etc. It is estimated the time for domestic delivery of China will be no more than 24 hours, and for global delivery, 72 hours.

Chongqing’s iconic food goes intelligent

DingTalk, an enterprise communication and collaboration platform developed by Alibaba Group, also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chongqing. It will help the city to build an intelligent big data platform of the food industry and participate in the construction of intelligent food industry park.

A total of 5 projects will be settled in Fuling District of Chongqing. This district has a world reputation for zhacai, a traditional Chinese preserved vegetable.

The investment of intelligent production base of zhacai will be about RMB 3.5 billion. In addition, a thematic pavilion on zhacai culture and crafts will be built as a part of the whole plan.

In terms of hot pot, which is the most famous food of Chongqing, an intelligent processing base will be built with an investment of RMB 1.73 billion. The annual output of soup stock and seasonings of hot pot is expected to be 0.34 million tons, worth of RMB 10 billion. And the import volume of ingredients for hot pot is expected to reach 0.18 million tons annually.
