Chongqing Xiyong Micro-Electronics Industrial Park stands in China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. WINSIDE and WIND will cooperate to develop IoT chips and build an artificial intelligence incubation platform for innovation and entrepreneurship. With an investment of RMB 1 billion, the mass production of IoT chips will start in 2021. They will also launch the “AI SPACE” industrial ecological chain to enhance Chongqing’s independent R&D strength in IoT chips.
Winside, a joint venture invested by Wind Communication Technologies and UNISOC Technologies, focuses on R&D and design of IoT chips. Furthermore, it also provides overall solutions in the fields of smart home, smart wear, and intelligent in-vehicle.
The projects signed this time will rely on the manufacturing capabilities of Wind and R&D abilities of UNISOC. Moreover, the company will develop customized IoT chips and modules, artificial intelligence chips, and 4G/5G chips. It strives to become the leading supplier of IoT chips, modules and overall solutions in China.
Meanwhile, WIND will set up a subsidiary in the park to launch the “AI SPACE” project. Based on that, it will concentrate efforts on building an artificial intelligence incubation platform for innovation and entrepreneurship.

About Wind Communication Technologies

Wind is leading original design manufacturer of mobile phones in China. And UNISOC serves as the world’s third largest mobile phone chip manufacturer. The two industry giants join forces to launch the WINSIDE IoT Chips project in the park. At the same time, they will cooperate in innovation and launch the “AI SPACE” industrial ecological chain project. Their collaboration will greatly enhance the strength of independent R&D in IoT chips in Chongqing. It will also promote the development of the ecological chain of the local integrated circuit industry.
