EU-China Commission Opens Its Office in Chongqing

On December 19, the unveiling ceremony of EU-China Commission (EUCNC) Chongqing Office took place in Nan’an District, Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality.

EU-China Commission Chongqing Office

The Office is to build an open, equal and mutually beneficial platform for the cooperation and exchanges between EU members and Chongqing as well as other municipalities and provinces in China in the fields such as economy, commerce, finance, culture, tourism, health, science and technology and education.
According to Xie Jianzhong, China Regional Chairman of EUCNC, EUCNC is a non-governmental organization (NGO) approved and supported by the European Parliament and established in accordance with relevant documents of the European Council. The Chongqing Office is the direct executing agency of EUCNC and its first office in China.
EUCNC promotes economic cooperation and cultural exchanges among EU headquarters, its members and China. At present, the cooperation projects cover new urbanization construction in China and Europe, carbon finance, robotics and artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, big data, ecological agriculture, health care, and culture and education.

JDC Markets

After the establishment of the Chongqing Office, it is one of the top priorities to establish JDC Markets, an international financial technology innovation center in Chongqing. It will deal with foreign exchange, precious metals, crude oil and commodities trading. And it aims to meet the diverse investment needs of investors.

The World Culture Festival and the Europe-China Image Film Season

Next, the Chongqing Office will also prepare for the World Culture Festival and the Europe-China Image Film Season. It is the first time for China to introduce the World Cultural Festival by EUCNC. In addition, more than 100 organizations and corporate booths from Asia Pacific, Europe, America and Africa will be on display.
While the Europe-China Image Film Season includes events such as the opening ceremony, the EU Film Festival, the China Film Festival, various professional forums, venture capital conferences, the closing ceremony and the professional awards ceremony. Moreover, it will also set up a special competition unit for film and television works of EU and Chinese youth, a venture capital unit for young filmmakers, etc.
